Auto Period Lock

The “Drill Down Report” feature in Tally is indeed a powerful tool that allows users to access voucher entry level from any report. However, it can sometimes pose a risk to data security, making the data susceptible to intentional or unintentional backdated changes. This could potentially invalidate the results of an audit process if changes are made to the data after its completion.

To address this issue, the tool we have developed sounds like an excellent solution. By allowing the Administrator to set a locking period during which users (other than the Administrator) cannot add, delete, or alter data, you’re effectively enhancing data security and integrity. This lock overrides regular security features set by the administrator and can be set manually or automatically.

This tool not only benefits users by preventing accidental changes to historical data but also provides assurance to auditors and tax consultants about the validity and accuracy of the data. It’s a great way to maintain trust and reliability in your data management system.

Seamless Integration with Tally

The compatibility of the period locking tool with both Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime releases ensures that users of both versions can benefit from its features. This broad compatibility makes it a versatile tool for enhancing data security and integrity across different versions of Tally. It’s great to see a tool that caters to the needs of a wide range of users.

Set It and Forget It

With the Auto Update Period Settings, you can set the locking period once and the tool will automatically lock the period time to time. This eliminates the need for manual intervention and ensures that your data remains secure and consistent. It’s a smart way to maintain data integrity with minimal effort.

View-Only Access

By restricting users (other than the Admin) from creating, deleting, canceling, or modifying entries during the locked period, it prevents accidental changes to historical data. This is particularly important in maintaining the accuracy of old data. It’s a smart approach to data management.

Manual or Auto Locking Process

The locking process can be set manually or automatically, offering flexibility based on your needs.

Audit Assurance

By preventing changes to data after an audit process, the tool ensures the validity of the audit and provides assurance to auditors and tax consultants.
